Activation Problem

Activation Problem

I bought "SiteAssist Pro" yesterday and successfully installed and used in Dreamweaver CS4.

I came out of Dreamweaver and then went back in and tried to use SiteAssist again and got the following error message...

"While executing onLoad in wasap_serial.htm, the following JavasScript error(s) occurred:

At line 214 of file "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\SiteAssistPro\Library\Shared_Ser_Machtivation.js":

document.formLayer.document has no properties.

Also showing behind the error dialog was "SiteAssist Professional - Activation"

The first time when I activated I was connected to the Internet. The second time I was not connected.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Larry Wadsworth

The line of code that is referred to in that error indicates that you are unable to connect to our server to activate the product. If your computer is changing MAC addresses (physical address), then you will have to activate again. Changing MAC addresses can be caused by changing from using a wired connection to a wireless or in your case it could be caused by switching from using internet to not using internet. Try connecting to the internet again and running the wizard.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try again, but as I stated in my original post, the second time I was not connected to the Internet and I don't want this to be a requirement that I be connected each time I use the product. Please clarify that I do NOT need to be connected each time I use the assist.

Thanks,

If your MAC address does not change, you should not have to activate each time. Since the activation screen popped up again, this indicates to me that your MAC address has changed. Can you verify that your MAC address does not change when you disconnect from the internet?

Still no luck. My MAC address is not changing. I've tried uninstalling DW CS4 and reinstalling. After 3 hours of messing with it, I given up and have requested a refund.

What I did is uninstall Dreamweaver, removed ALL associated folders, then reinstall DW and SiteAssist to no available. Even to the point of when remove SiteAssist, I started getting errors with Dreamweaver. Again, I've spent 3+ hours on this. For me, it's time to call it a day.
