Validating UK Telephone numbers

Hi there,

I know User Registration is designed to default to US phone numbers but can anybody help me to convert my registration form etc to accept and validate UK telephone numbers? Which files do I need to alter and what code do I use?

I've had a look at the custom phone number option but, as I'm a beginner not really sure where to start.

Thanks for any help.

Using Dreamweaver 8

Thanks but I'm using Dreamweaver 8 and not CS3 or CS4 - how do I access this properties inspector through DW8 or is there another way to set the validation to a UK phone number?

I'm sorry, User Registration Solution Pack uses the Client and Server Side validation in CSS Form builder for the telephone format. You would need the CSS Form builder Extension to be able to modify the formats.

Unfortunately, CSS Form builder is not compatible with DW8. Only CS3 and above.

If you wish, you could remove the phone number validation code from the registration page.

The Client side validation is applied to the onBlur event of the form element:
change:

php:
<input name="UserPhone" type="text" class="WAATKTextField" id="UserPhone" onBlur="if (document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation')) document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation').style.display='none';WAValidatePN(document.forms[0].UserPhone,'- Invalid phone number',false,true,'x (xxx) xxx-xxxx',document.forms[0].UserPhone,0,true)" value="<?php echo(ValidatedField("usersRegistration","UserPhone")) ?>" size="32" />

to:

php:
<input name="UserPhone" type="text" class="WAATKTextField" id="UserPhone" onBlur="if (document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation')) document.getElementById('PhoneServerValidation').style.display='none'" value="<?php echo(ValidatedField("usersRegistration","UserPhone")) ?>" size="32" />

Thank You

Thanks Jason. Working like a dream - I've just removed the validation code as you requested. I will, however, have to think about investing in either Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4 i think!!!! Know anyone selling it cheap :-)

Thanks again..
