ecart checkout wizard issues

Hello I am trying to use ecart 4 checkout wizard with DWCS4 for mac OSX- the interface hangs and will NOT got past getting started YELLOW BUTTON - I click and nothing happens - look guys you really need to get your act together... i hate to say this but 2 years ago i stopped using you products when CS3 was around - too made BAD unresolved issues - so I went back to INTERAKT solutions - which dont work in CS4 - I know I am gong to get a LAMS ASS excuse reply - about how it will be fixed with CS5 etc...
This story is getting old guys... perhaps my RANT will allow others to come forward - I am an Adobe certified trainer who have TURNED all your products on to students and corp clients for many years... now I am TOO embarrassed to SUGGEST your products for all the LAME problems and excuses

I think you have a TOP company and you market your products well - but when the products CONTINUE to FAIL year after year it becomes very upsetting - so what is the EXCUSE for ecart NOT working- if I choose any solution PUT paypal it works... is this a known issue?

Wow, you really backed yourself into a corner. You have the choice of using INTERAKT solutions that don't work, or ranting at the other choice.

So while you are waiting for the WA guys to get back, here is the "LAMS ASS excuse reply" you are hoping for:

For the attitude, I suggest this article:

Tip 5 is a good one for you

Since others are using the extensions successfully, let's explore the possibility that it might be an issue with your system.
Solving problems with Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver's handling of the cache file is a well known problem that has nothing to do with WA extensions. Try this and maybe in the morning things will be a little cooler and you can work through any remaining issues with the support staff.

Nice try

NO based on my experience - I have tried this on 5 different MACS including- trashing the prefs / cache MAC files - this is not the 1st - or 2nd or even 10th time I have had issues... this had been going on for years... I have scores of my students having the same issues

Yes - I agree one gets more bees with HONEY then Vinegar - but this has gone on long enough - I am sure many people just give up -

IE: A straight forward FORUM is responded to with a bunch of CYPER BABBLE from user and WA support people

IE2: I am using Digi File Pro 2 to upload a simple jpg to mySQL DB- it all works - uploads the pic- changes the file size etc but does NOT write the file name to the TABLE column- and the response from the WA team is to point meet to their online USLESS recipes etc etc

in REF to interakt (A once great solution btw) extensions - they were bought by Adobe and then Adobe dropped the ball by NOT upgrading THE DEVELOPERS TOOL BOX to work in CS4 - HUGE MISTAKE!

Jaffa

G'Day The Adobe toolbox does work with CS4, They (Adobe) released a patch to get it going some time back. I too use their tools and revert to WA when a different set is required.

I have seen this occur in Older Versions of eCart (Prior to 4.5.2) where the Getting Started Button was not active, the Work around I have found is to toggle the "Will you offer shipping services?" Option to NO then back to Yes.

Please let me know if you continue to experience issues with this.

The problem you are having with storing the file in the database is that DFP does not integrate with the Dreamweaver Insert record server behavior. The Dreamweaver Insert Record Server is limited in functionality. It will only allow you to get information from form fields, it will not allow you to bind to application or session variables.

I apologize if you feel pointing you to the documentation was useless. I would have been much better prepared to give you a more satisfactory answer however if you had included the fact that you where not using DataAssist in you initial question.

I responded to your email message regarding this with the following:

The Dreamweaver Insert record server behavior is limited in functionality. In the Insert Record Server Behavior, you are only able to bind to form elements, it does not allow you to bind to application variables or session variables.

Because of this limitation, you cannot use the Dreamweaver Insert Record behavior to store the uploaded file name in the database.

When you upload a file using digital file pro, the name of the uploaded file that is created on the server is stored in a variable created by digital file pro, since the Dreamweaver Insert record server behavior limits you to using form bindings only, you must use the DataAssist insert Record server behavior to store the Server File Name.

the following is a link to another forum thread with the same situation:
