page restrictions

Hi

starting to get my head around this now.

I have this solution pack and the essentials which has security assist.

Having use the pack as a starting point I would now like to use security assist to limit specific users to a special page.

When I run the security assist wizard if want to create the log on/ log off pages etc but I already have these.

Is there another way to get to the page permissions options?

thanks

Ian

update

Hi

think I've solved that issue because I discovered that the user reg database does not have a "groups " field.
Am I correct is assuming I have to add a field to the database to designate specific users as administrators?

In which case do I create a field called administrators and make it a boolean? or is there a better simpler way.

Sorry I am a mysql/php novice....

cheers

Ian

In the users table, crate a new userGroupID column. I like to set the user levels to numbers that relate to a groups table:

groups:
GroupID | GroupName
1 | Visitors
2 | Power Users
3 | Administrators

See the "User Level Authentication" tutorial in the Solution recipe section of the Security Assist support page for more details on configuring user level access:
