javascript error w/ iRite and I.E. 8 when adding links

Every time a client adds or edits a link in I.E. 8, she gets a javascript error.

Object doesn't support this property or method.

fckdialog.html.

I will also attach a screen print.

what version of iRite are you using?

The last update to iRite, version 1.0.3 contains an updated version of the FCKEditor that should fix this problem.

Jason, I'm using 1.0.2. I will install the latest one and give that a try. Thanks!

Jason, I uninstalled the extension and installed the new extension, re-uploaded all of the appropriate pages, but it's still giving me the same error in I.E.

I just tested creating an iRite instance with version 1.0.3 and I do not get any javascript errors in IE8.

Perhaps there are some files that did not get overwritten on the server?

try deleting the WA_iIRite folder from your server and from the local system, then recreating the iRite instance.

can you try adding the iRite instance to a new page in a new site?

Jason, I removed the iRite editor from the site and recreated it, but I still get the same error in IE 8. A different site, which has NOT been updated is not receiving any error messages, but another site is. It's inconsistent and I do not know why.

I have exactly the same problem with one of my sites since upgrading to 1.03.

Have you found a solution?

Incidentally, I've just discovered the error disappears if the browser is set to IE7 Compatibility View

Ken, it turned out that the latest version of iRite was not installed. Put it this way, it WAS installed, but I had to recreate the iRite editor on my site. Once that was done, it works in I.E. 8 now.
