Just Downloaded Powerstore 2, can't open pdf's

Just Downloaded Powerstore 2, can't open pdf's

I just bought and downloaded Powerstore 2. Extracted the files, opened the readme file and clicked on pdf's to follow installation instructions and none of the pdf's will open. Acrobat says the files are "broken."

I also went to the web site and tried opening the pdf's there and had the same result. Is the Web Assist site having issues? Or did something in the download affect my computer?

I am on a pc using Vista. Haven't started installing, wanted to read through the information first...but am stuck already. Not a great start.

Thanks for any help...

Michelle

This is a somewhat recent problem that has started to crop up. We hope to identify the cause of the problem and have it fixed soon.

In the mean time, a work around is to right click on the PDF Link and Select Save link As to save the PDF to your computer, then open the saved file.

To help us in tracking down the problem, can you please post back a few more details about you system:
What web browser and version are you using?

what version Of Acrobat Reader do you have installed?

Do you have Acrobat Pro installed?

This thread:

suggests that it's related to having Acrobat Pro 9 installed on your system.

I have Acrobat pro 8 installed and have no problems with the PDFs.

I do have both Acrobat Reader 8 installed, and also Acrobat 9 pro. I tried opening them in both. The workaround did work for one, at least, so I will try it on others. I tried opening them on both a Vista computer and an XP, one has IE8 running, the other IE7. Both with the same results. The really odd thing is, before I downloaded the program, about a week before, I did open some of the pdf's and printed them off in preparation for setting up FOR PowerStore 2. Then, once I downloaded PS2 onto our external hard drive that both computers use, couldn't use either one for opening the WA pdfs. I did open pdfs from other sites with no problems at all. Could be a coincidence....but timing is odd.
