Installation Issues - Dreamweaver errors

Installation Issues - Dreamweaver errors

I subscribed to WebAssist service, paid the $99 and downloaded all the extensions - some of which were free already I noticed but that is not the issue here.

Dreamweaver CS4 blew up, which has worked perfectly up to now. It wouldn't save any pages, I couldn't get some of the extensions to work and ended up uninstalling them all. I tried calling earlier in the week and left a detailed message with my name, phone number, email and all the data they asked for and have yet to get a return call. I just placed 3 calls trying to get through to a human and ended up in every department email.

I am out of business without Dreamweaver and the ability to write web pages. The updates this week have been by hand and the only product that worked properly was the CSS Menu.

I was part of the phone survey that helped implement the subscription program and would have thought that customer service was part of it. In reading through all the forums for hours, I couldn't find anyone else that had this problem.

What I really want now is my money refunded and I will uninstall Dreamweaver CS4 and reinstall it to get rid of all the WebAssist things that are rendering it useless.

But I cannot find anywhere how to get a refund on the site either. Can't find where a support ticket could be sent in, but perhaps thats just me.

This is the place to submit your support ticket and get customer service.

The first thing to try when getting javascript errors after installing an extesnion is to delete the Dreamweaver cache file from the users configuration folder. The following has more detailed information:
common_installation_issues.pdf

The fastest way to get Dreamweaver back to working is to rename the users configuration.

To do that, rename the folder that contains the cache file from the directions in the common installation problems pdf.

If you want to work through the javascript errors you are getting, delete the cache file, then report back with the text of the javascript errors you are getting.

if you would rather pursue a refund, contact our sales team at sales@webassist.com, one of our customer service representatives will work with you.

Have done so already

Thanks for the reply, I already tried dealing with the cache file, spent hours reading all the tech posts but to no avail. After uninstalling all the extensions except CSSMenu, I'm down to 3 errors in the Configuration/Floaters something or other. An end user shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops to get them working.

I have called 3 times and not been able to get a human, left detailed messages and no return call. I have emailed the Sales department and am awaiting a response. I'm hoping they refund my money and credit part of it to the CSSMenu.

It was almost like these extensions weren't tested properly prior to release to allow normal people to use them with Dreamweaver. The CSSMenu extension works nicely.
