Can't connect to DB on host server

I keep getting an error saying:

The files from the _mmServerScripts folder are for the server model PHP-MySQL. You try to connect to a database using a different server model. Please remove this folder outside the Dreamweaver environment on both local and testing machines and try again.

I have PHP showing in DataAssist as the server model. I have PHP MySQL in the Site Definition. I have tried deleting that folder in both the local and remote server. I am desperate to move forward!

Karen,

Just to be sure... have you checked in your databases tab that a connection is defined... and if so, check the the connection script in the "Connections" folder to ensure that everything looks correct.

Best regards,

Brian

There is a connection file in the Connections folder and it looks correct. I have PHP MySQL in the site definitions and this is in the connection file:

# FileName="Connection_php_mysql.htm"
# Type="MYSQL"
# HTTP="true"

I am completely lost.

Let's try this...

1. Exit Dreamweaver.
2. Rename the following directory to anything (it doesn't matter what you call it)

Windows XP example:
---------------------
C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Username>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration

Doing this will reset all of your extensions the next time you restart Dreamweaver. I'm thinking that you have similarly cached a setting in Dreamweaver.

To add to the last reply I have not encountered this specific error myself but I have seen where the connection info for the site gets corrupted due to something in the _mmServerScripts folder in your site.

You may want to try deleting the connections folder and this other folder from the site root and recreate them to see if it helps clear up the error.

Thank you both for your help. It wound up that all I needed was the www in the URL in the Testing Server section of the Site Manager definitions! How frustrating!!! Seems to me that DW could deliver a better error message for that simple of a conflict.

Your input did help me as it pushed me to look beyond the WebAssist extension. Thanks again.

thank you!!

To anyone having this issue, Karen308939 nailed it! After hours of exhausting research and head pounding trying to fix this issue, all that was needed was to include the "www" in the URL string at the bottom of the site definition window in Dreamweaver. Karen rocks!!
