Form appears too far from the left side of its containing element - RESOLVED

I have a form in a containing div element that is 750 px wide. Problem is that after inserting the new form in this container, the form itself is probably 40 px from the left border of the container. I had to make the form 630 px wide so it would fit in the container but now I see that an error message is protruding from the right side of fieldset. This is a single column form by the way.

I have zero margins and padding on the fieldsets as well as the form itself, so where is this 40 pixels from the left being added to the form's position in the container?

thanks,

steve

Do you have the page uploaded to a server so I can take a look at it? I'd like to see what kinds of settings you've applied to the form so I may be able to reproduce this on my end. Any additional details on what settings you chose and what field sets you applied would be great as well.

Nope, the pages are considered to be in a proprietary phase right now and only local to a development server running WAMP. No other way I could determine where the left side offset is coming from? The form that was previously in the page's container (developed using DW CS4) fit in jut fine with offsets showing up as a result of CSS that was added.

That form was constructed using divs and when deciding to use FB to create the form, I commented out all the CSS related to all forms, fieldsets, and legends to see if I was getting something from my main stylesheet.

I'll try and construct a dummy page with a form in it since I also saw this offset in the page when I was first trying to get the hang of FB for building forms I'll leave the CSS internal to the page and see if that makes a difference for viewing what I'm talking about.

By the way, check out Patupxi's post since it sounds like he (?) too is having a similar problem with the form needing to be more to the left than its offset to the right. It sounds like he did the same thing I did to get the form within the container, but is still running in to a problem with getting the form over to the left where desired.

I have posted up a solution in Patupxi's thread, you can find that thread here:
