Issue with the RLIKE operator

Issue with the RLIKE operator

I am trying to create a mysql query with the RLIKE operator

$GetRecord = new WA_MySQLi_RS("GetRecord ", $conn_i, 0);
$ GetRecord ->setQuery("SELECT id FROM table WHERE value RLIKE '[?]'");
$ GetRecord ->bindParam("s", "" . (isset($_POST['val']) ? $_POST['val'] : "") . "", "-1"); //colname
$ GetRecord ->execute();

In datagrip and phpmyadmin I get the desired output with this query replacing ? with a string.

It seems rsobj.php cannot handle the operator.

Error: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function fetch_array() on bool in /public_html/webassist/mysqli/rsobj.php:237

Is there a workaround for this?
