SQLi update entering blanks / out of sequence

SQLi update entering blanks / out of sequence

Using MySQLi Update to load a "fixed" value into a record without user interaction.(aka auto-run)
php file attached is called by another form with a passed in URL userID. Simply want this file to access the data record and update the record with the constant specified in the hidden variable.
With update trigger set to "always", file runs but always places a "blank" in the record field instead of the hidden variable constant.
If the record field has a value... it is overwritten with the "blank"
If i add a user "submit" button and change the trigger to use the button,,, works fine.

Can you suggest a solution?

Don't use a hidden variable on this page since you don't want to submit this page. Just type in "No" as the value in the update server behavior bindings instead of the hidden form element posted value.
