25-30 Product Options

25-30 Product Options

The Goal Is:
1.) Trying to add 25-30 different product options to Products (not all effect the price).
Approximately 5-15 may affect price depending on which product you choose.
2.) Want to add Product Sub Category Table Added?
3.) Some of the options need to be input (text box, check box) etc.
Can or should the attempt be made to modify the store to this level?
Should I start from Scratch and would anyone be willing to help or collaborate?
Not sure where to go from here

Example of a few options:
COLOR DropDown
WIDTH TextBox | Dropdown for fraction
LENGTH TextBox | Dropdown for fraction
HEADRAIL TYPE Dropdown
MOUNT Dropdown
CONTROL POSITIONS Dropdown
SPECIAL CONTROL LENGTH Dropdown
VALANCE CheckBox
SPECIAL EXACT VALANCE SIZE TextBox
SPECIAL RETURN SIZE TextBox

Custom coding will need to be used in order to determine how each option each displayed, and since we currently use Ajax to display the options, you will need to make some modification to the part of the code as well.

I would recommend that you use the PowserStore as a starting point for adding the options to a product. But you will need to add the logic to determine how the options are displayed.

I added about 7 options to the store and it literally stopped working I guess it overtaxed
the system.
Looks like Database will have to be reworked as well as code?
Any ideas as to the best way to restructure database to maybe less records and more fields or more tables.

I'm not sure there is an easy way to restructure the database to use less records.

I know adding a lot of different options groups could cause some pages to be not responsive because of the amount of parsing that is happening.

I would recommend that you try to decrease the number of option values (meaning if you have Color as an option you should try to use about three values: red, blue, and black). In addition, i don't recommend that you have more than 8 option groups because the number of records in the Database will increase exponentially.
