Uncaught Error after follow the tutorial: Create dynamic menu navigation

I've followed your tutorial "Create dynamic menu navigation" to test a dynamic menu navigation. It does not work.

Six years ago (time goes fast), I already had problems (see http://www.webassist.com/forums/posts.php?id=25790), so I gave up. But now I have time and an idea that I want to test using WebAssist.

First, CSS Menu Writer does not seem to finish completely. It does not save the file and the progress window does not end (see attached image).

Then, when I test the file in the browser, I get an error message: "Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_select_db () in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/dynamicMenu/CSSMenuWriter/cssmw/menu.php:53 Stack trace: # 0 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/dynamicMenu/index.php(21): require_once () # 1 {main} thrown in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/dynamicMenu/CSSMenuWriter/cssmw/menu.php on line 53 ".

Menu writer has not been updated for MySQLi yet. It is part of Design Extender. I will be working on that next now that Data Bridge has been updated.

This error is because you are on php7 and it is trying to add MySQL code.

If I understand correctly is it because I'm using MySQLi?

Does it work with the old MySQL then?

Menu writer should work with MySQL, so yes you would just need to use a MySQL connection when running the wizard. ECart 6 has been updated to support MySQLi, so it wouldn't be an issue.

I just installed the extension and it ran without issues for me. It may have something to do with your foreign language version of Dreamweaver or maybe accented characters in your folder names? I'll need to debug this with you in a screen sharing session. If you post a US phone number or skype contact information I set up a time to debug this with you and find a solution.

If I can reproduce an error, then I can fix it. But with something like this that I'm unable to reproduce here I really need to connect to a computer that demonstrates the problem in order to debug and find the cause so that I can implement a solution.

I've sent you a message via Skype. Please reply there and we can use Skype to coordinate a time when we will both be online.
