database connection not working

Hi Ray

Just migrating a site from test server to live and getting the following error:

Notice: Undefined variable: H in /home/ebcllp/public_html/Connections/PowerCMSConnection.php on line 33

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user 'ebcllp_admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/ebcllp/public_html/Connections/PowerCMSConnection.php on line 39

Fatal error: Access denied for user 'ebcllp_admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/ebcllp/public_html/Connections/PowerCMSConnection.php on line 39

The connection file (attached) has got the exact same username, database and password as the DB admin tool I use (HeidiSQL) and Heidi connects without any problems whatsoever.

The domain is parked at a 3rd party and the A record is being pointed to my server - could that be affecting it? Other than that am unsure what else could be causing this problem?

Cheers

Jamie

It is the dollar sign in the connection. I think if you add a backslash before the dollar sign it will work properly. Another solution would be to use single quotes instead of double quotes for the string with the dollar sign.
