Unable to connect to local MySQL

Hi,
I am running a Mac OSX 10.10.5 and Dreamweaver CC2015. When I try to make a Dynamic MySQLi (v 1.0.5) connection I get:
MySQL Error#: 1045
Access denied for user 'Root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

The MySQL is running on a Windows 7 Pro machine using IIS. I know the password is correct. Other web sites that have been created using the same configuration in the past all connect Ok.

Any help gratefully received please.

Usually the 500 server error is an issue with the site definition URL in your testing server settings.

The error "Access denied for user 'Root'@'localhost' " implies that the username or password you entered is incorrect.
