inner join problem

hey Ray

Am trying to do an inner join so that I can use the CategoryName from this table: in this select statement

SELECT * FROM sponsors ORDER BY SponsorName ASC

but cannot get it to work.

I have tried

SELECT sponsors.*, sponsorcategories.* FROM sponsors INNER JOIN sponsorcategories ON sponsors.SponsorID = sponsorcategories.CategoryID ORDER BY sponsors.SponsorName ASC

but this doesnt return all the records and the ones it does have the wrong CategoryName associated with them

This part:

INNER JOIN sponsorcategories ON sponsors.SponsorID = sponsorcategories.CategoryID

Should be either:
INNER JOIN sponsorcategories ON sponsors.SponsorCategoryID = sponsorcategories.CategoryID

INNER JOIN sponsorcategories ON sponsors.SponsorID = sponsorcategories.CategorySponsorID

The two keys aren't what match to create the join. It would be a key in one table joined to the associated field in the other.
