Add Encryption to Existing Password Field

Hi,

I have a user registration form I built with the Security Assist Wizard. It has a password field (field in the DB is defined as varchar(45)) and I now want to store the password as an encrypted value.

How do I do that?

Thanks,

TM

Take a look at the SecurityAssist help page: index.htm and check out Password Encryption (near the bottom in the menu on the left side. You'll need DataAssist's Insert Record server behavior (and DataAssist Update to handle modifications) to be able to insert an encrypted value as the built in Dreamweaver server behaviors are not able to modify form field values before they are inserted/updated. To see how to do this, take look at the solution recipes securityassist/ in particular the Creating a New password page. The steps for assigning encrypted value to a column in the database should be applicable to the DataAssust insert server behavior.
