I want to use the trash can icon rather than delete button however the delete is not a simple url so I am unsure how to accomplish this.
I have included the manage page url and log in credentials on the attachment. Thank You,

You can just take the onclick code from the current delete button and add it to the trash icon and it should work.
Code
<input type="button" value="Delete" class="formButton" id="DeleteConfirm" name="DeleteConfirm" onclick=
"document.getElementById('WADADeleteRecordID').value=<?php echo($row_WADAhorses['horseid']); ?>;
document.getElementById('deleteBox').style.display = 'block';document.getElementById('deleteMessage').style.display = 'table';" />
Code I copied - document.getElementById('WADADeleteRecordID').value=6778;document.getElementById('deleteBox').style.display = 'block';document.getElementById('deleteMessage').style.display = 'table';
Does not look right and did not work.url mysites.com/myfolder/document.getElementById('WADADeleteRecordID').value=6778;document.getElementById('deleteBox').style.display = 'block';document.getElementById('deleteMessage').style.display = 'table';
You should copy the whole thing:
onclick=
"document.getElementById('WADADeleteRecordID').value=<?php echo($row_WADAhorses['horseid']); ?>;
document.getElementById('deleteBox').style.display = 'block';document.getElementById('deleteMessage').style.display = 'table';"
and put it in the <img> tag
