Jamie

search data

Hey Ray

If I wanted to set up a textarea for a client to put key phrases/words to be included within the search criteria would the data be better set up as comma or space separated?

Cheers and best wishes for 2017!

If you do space separated it wouldn't be able to search on multiple word phrases. Comma separated is a bit more intuitive. So there are pros and cons to both. If it is always single words that people search for then I'd go space separated.

thanks Ray

would a carriage return equate to a space (eg if I was to stipulate 1 keyword per line)?

You could use str_replace() to replace carriage returns with spaces for codnsistency.
