Updating to php 7

Hello
Using the 1and1 php server I am invited to update to php 7.0
When I did this and tested the website I received the error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_pconnect() in /homepages/37/d415519235/htdocs/boatsforsalenow/Connections/conn1.php:9 Stack trace: #0 /homepages/37/d415519235/htdocs/boatsforsalenow/Login/login.php(52): require_once() #1 {main} thrown in /homepages/37/d415519235/htdocs/boatsforsalenow/Connections/conn1.php on line 9

Can you say how I should overcome this error please?
Many thanks
John

You should not upgrade to PHP 7 if you are using standard MySQL database connections. It appears that you are, so I'd roll back to an earlier version of PHP.

The alternative is to use our "MySQLi Server Behaviors" extension to make sure you are using MySQLi for all database activity instead of MySQL.

Thanks Ray
Very helpful.
I have Supersite, is MySQLi Server Behaviors included somewhere?

Thanks

Your Super Suite purchase was back in 2012, so it didn't include MySQLi Server Behaviors. It should be just a $99 upgrade.

Php 7 and the extendions

Hello!

I understand that if we replace the inserts, updates etc. for behaviors of the extension Myqli Server Behaviours will be compatible with PHP 7.

My question is... The rest of extensions like Framework builder, Image Resizer, Ecart 6, Security assist ... are compatible with php 7?
Thanks.

I have been having a look at the page http://www.webassist.com/dreamweaver-server-behaviors where there are several videos to see but they are not working for me.
Regards getting MySql 7 working on existing sites with databases will these sites require revising and or updating please?

Regards

John

The videos work for me. What browser are you using?

Any site created with database connectivity will need extensive updates to work with PHP 7, MySQL 7 shouldn't need any adjustments.

Thanks Ray,
I am using Firefox.

There are two links to
Watch video demonstrating how to use the MySQLi Query Builder and Data Modeling tool ยป

The first video works and the second does not.
The first video was reluctant to open for a while but then the adobe permission showed and off we went

It appears both links were supposed to go to the same video anyway. I've updated the second link so it works.

You can find all of the webassist videos by going to youtube directly and searching for webassist as the publisher.
