MySQL 7 and ubuntu 16

You will have to move to MySQLi to use php 7. You may be able to install the legacy mySQL code base, but it has been dropped in favor of MySQLi for php 7. If you want to use mySQL you may have to move to a php 6 install.

Thanks Ray, I've got it working with mysqli and php 5.7 now, I did notice a few warnings about some parts of the code in eCart being depreciated in the future. Something about naming conventions I think.

You can just turn off the deprecated messages in your php.ini file. They are just warnings that the code won't work in php 7, which you already found out the hard way.

Thanks Ray, whenever I'm making changes to my work I always use a test site, which has the notifications on before I upload it to the production site.

Thanks again for your help

Cheers
