You have a div before the one you added that has a clear:left; You may just be able to delete that one since it is empty... the one with class="sidebar ps_pod04"

In that case wrap the two divs:
<div class="sidebar ps_pod3">
<div class="sidebar ps_pod04">

inside another div that has:
<div style="float: left">

That will group those together and keep them from throwing off the position of the next one.

You can create an Administrator account (as opposed to the Super Administrator) and have your client use that for login. They would be able to update products, view orders, and update content, but would not be able to update the design.

You can create an administrator account by simply choosing "Administrator" as the access group when creating or updating a registered user.

You would have to FTP up the images from the localhost and update the live database to match. Once you are live you should stop using localhost for updating products since your files and database will become out of sync.
