MySQLi Future

Hello there

I have asked this a few times, I know - but when please (if at all) can we expect to see MySQLi integration into Databridge?
I can see posts from Jason referring to this as far back as 18 months plus.

Would it be possible (and possibly easier) please to have view of the WebAssist roadmap for the future releases and integration of Databridge and/or MySQLi?

Many thanks

A further question on this: if Data Bridge is basically going to integrate MySQLi server behaviors, do people who purchased MySQLi server behaviors get some sort of discount on Data Bridge once the integration is done?

Ray BorduinWebAssist

Yes we will be giving a discount equal to the purchase price you paid for mySQLi Server behaviors.

Ray

Thank you for that information - good to know.
Again, do you have a timescale and details of future enhancements please?

Thank you

No timeline is available. I'm as anxious as anybody to get it out.

Hello Ray

I am sending this as a 'non-public' message.

I am at the point now, as Dreamweaver progresses, that I have to make a decision whether to hold on to Databridge and your MySQLi extension in the knowledge that they have a definite future, or look elsewhere.
In particular I have situation here where I need to generate multiple MySQLi updates and I seem to remember that this was promised by Jason, probably a couple of years ago now.
As you know the last Databridge release was 2015, and the last message from yourself was March 2016, but with no firm date.

I would be very grateful if you would be up front with me, as a long standing Web Assist user, and let me know where the future lies.

Thanks and best regards

Steve

I have mysqli functioning for DataBridge and all of the individual databridge server behaviors in an alpha build now. I need to update SecurityAssist still before doing a private beta that I'll invite some of our users to participate in.

Ray,

Isn't SecurityAssist as equally complex as DataBridge so we can anticipate another 18 months for it's completion?

SecurityAssist is a lot less complex. Remember that only the interfaces that interact with the database have to be re-written. For DataAssist that was dozens, for SecurityAssist it is only a couple. SecurityAssist uses DataAssist for the registration and update user profile pages, so those are basically done and just need to be ported over. The authenticate user server behaviors already exist in mysqli, they just need upgrade paths. A lot of what we did in DataAssist will translate into a faster update for SecurityAssist.

Thanks Ray,

Hoping it won't be long.
