I have XAMPP for Windows 5.6.15 and I get the following errors after a login page generation using DW5.5: Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in C:\xampp\htdocs\blquiz\Connections\blquiz.php on line 15 Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_pconnect()

I have XAMPP for Windows 5.6.15 and I get the following errors after a login page generation using DW5.5:
Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in C:\xampp\htdocs\blquiz\Connections\blquiz.php on line 15 Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_pconnect() in C:\xampp\htdocs\blquiz\Connections\blquiz.php on line 25

Your php.ini file is probably missing this:
extension=php_mysql.dll

or there is a semi-colon in front of that line commenting it out.

Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in ...

Hey Ray.

Searching forums for a recent post/resolution to the above error where im using PhP v7.4 from a recent XAMPP install.
I've tried editing the php.ini with extension=php_mysql.dll and extension=php_mysqli.dll but it doesn't resolve the warning.

Interestingly the remainder of the form on the same page loads ok.

Any thoughts?

mysql is deprecated for php7 and above. You can't enable it in the php.ini.

You would have to convert everything to mysqli to have it work properly in php7 or later.
