Adding a discount code

I am trying to add a discount code to my shopping cart. I have the form setup in the cart to accept the code. I have a session variable to hold the text code and another session value to hold the value of the code. But I am stuck setting up the discount code in the eCart object. I created a discount code. The trigger is total number of items >0 and if the session variable promocode == Webassist. I am not sure how to connect the Webassist value to the discount record, although I do have the record being found based on the text input on the form.

Finally, I need to subtract the discount value from the cart's subtotal. I have the drop down for "Calculation" selected on the cart subtotal and the cart subtotal set to minus a value. How do I set the value to be the value in the record set?

If you add a discount, then the discount amount will be automatically subtracted from the cart total, so you just have to get the discount amount set.

Is the discount a flat rate or percentage? What is the discount you are trying to set up? Maybe I can help explain how to do it if I understand what you are trying to do.

I was able to fix this. Post ID thread #5584 was very helpful
