Update My Custom Pages

Hello

I have basically made my site https. Even if someone lands on an http page, as soon as they click a link from our side navigation bar, all the links are https and thus it is basically a https site. However, I have begun to create some more custom pages that will not be on the side navigation menu. One is on the top nav, but the rest will be on the bottom nav for specific item info. However, for the engines to find them as https, I need a way to label or make my custom pages links at https. Can you help. When you click on the top and bottom nav lnks, they are http...

Use your .htaccess file to force all links to https like:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R,L]

Update My Custom Pages

Hello

I did not know that we had access to an .htaccess file with Cafe Commerce, or even where to access it. I know nothing about the file, but I will do some reading. Is it possible for me to re-write or re-direct all http pages to https? You had change something for us previously that had the engines only index the https file, but since all our side links are https, I would like to just make everything https. So I will be able to do it with the .htaccess file?

How do I access or find the .htaccess and is the above quoted command what I need to write or change?

Sorry I overlooked this was a cafecommerce question... I've updated the .htaccess so that your site will automatically go to https:// for all pages.

Thanks, but I have a last question.

If you click on the below http link, http://ginelectronics.com/speaker-wire, instead of redirecting to the https version, it redirects to http://ginelectronics.comspeaker-wire (/ missing between .com and speaker). Is that normal?

That redirection seems to be happening before it even gets to us... did you have someone else working on this issue from the hosting side? I think there might be an issue with what they did. That isn't part of our code but it appears to be the only page where this happens.

Hey

Nobody at all. In fact, the day I spoke with you last week I moved the domain to Go Daddy and we are hosted with you. No http re-directs to https have ever happened prior to this.

Awhile back, you changed something (I think they were canonical links), maybe that needs to be undone???

Can I get the login information for your godaddy account. It has to be something there.

In private section. If you need to speak with someone there, I gave you a 4 digit access pin for my account...

What browser are you using? It appears to be working for me... maybe try clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes it.
