How to approach using and external text doc to update database records.

Client has a desktop software package for their inventory and accounting needs. This server is in-house and not linkable to the internet therefore I cannot simply tie to the two databases together. The client currently uses a script that creates a text file and an excel file that they use to upload 3 other third party websites that list their inventories on a daily basis manually.

They want to use this same approach to update their Powerstore shopping cart.

I need to know what steps I need to take to make this happen.

An example of the excel file they use now is below. I can write a script to retrieve more/different info if needed.

Thanks!

You can create a page that uses file upload to allow them to upload the file to the server.

Then you would have to hand code reading the lines from that file and updating the database. This should be relatively easy to pull off in a 1 hour premier support ticket.

Sounds like a plan. I'll be on tomorrow and we can setup a date/time then.
Thanks!
