Connection issues testing

I have two connections to my database and one will connect when I test the connection via dreamweaver but will cause the live page to error and the other will allow the page to display but will give a user error when I test. I am trying to add editable regions. I was able to add a couple regions. Then came back a day later and nothing worked.

Additionally the edit tool bar is not appearing.

Testing in Dreamweaver uses what you have defined as the testing server. It sounds like you may have an issue with your site definition and the testing server having a different connection than your remote server.

If that is the case how come one connection works and the other does not. Regardless I created a new user and that one is working with the same connections. Not sure why. I also made sure that the ftp connection and web url did not include www

The connection that works in DW but doesn't work live is the one that has the correct username and password for the testing server.

I also see that you have a dollar sign in your password. There are issues with dollar signs in passwords when connecting through dreamweaver... that might be the real issue here.

That would explain why creating a new user resolved the issue and the password for the new user does NOT have a $ sign in it. Thank You!
