PowerCMS files gone from server

PowerCMS files gone from server

So, I've had PowerCMS working on several sites. On one of the sites the PowerCMS stopped pulling from the database to the webpage. I checked the server and noticed that all the WA PowerCMS files were gone. I re-uploaded the files, but the content still doesn't show on the web page.

Do I need to run the install again? If so, will that overwrite everything that I had setup?

Please advise.

I'm not sure how that happened. I've never seen that before.

All of the content is in the database, so as long as the database hasn't disappeared then you shouldn't lose any data.

Do you have a url where I can see the issue and can you give me FTP access? I'll take a look and make sure the data isn't gone and see why the pages aren't working.

Yes, it is weird. I don't know if they were doing some server maintenance or what. I appreciate any help. I will send you url and ftp privately

It looks like someone deleted the news content section from the admin. I added it back with the content I found in the history table. It may be older content, but it can be updated now.

Thanks Ray! That solved the issue. I had a conversation with my client about deleting the section.

I appreciate the quick response!!!

So did the client have the ability to delete a record?
If yes, then maybe remove the delete button from the client options?

Asking because I also allow clients to edit page contents but if they delete a page contents database then they will be charged to replace.
So just asking how others are doing client management when they delete content... or should we hide delete from client use?

Patrice - I didn't realize you could hide the delete button.

You can pretty easily edit the code to remove or hide the delete option for any but the super admin user.

Well, we are not talking apples and oranges I think.
I am not speaking of CMS system, but rather back end DataAssist stuff.
If I want to keep clients from using back end and not be able to 'delete" then I use a hide comment thing to the delete stuff or it could be done by replacing the delete image with a blank trans image.
