Redirect to details page of newly added record

Redirect to details page of newly added record

Is it possible, when adding a new record, to have the redirect go to the details page of the record just added?

I'm guessing not, because there is no record until it is added, so it can't be referred to in the redirect.

Just wondering, as I have a project where there is a very basic add page, as most of the content is then added in related tables.

So it would be useful if the user could add a record, and immediately be on the details page where they can add the other stuff in related tables.

Just use: "[Insert_ID]" in your redirect url (with the brackets, without the quotes) and it will be replaced with the ID of the inserted record.

Thanks Ray - that's perfect.

Never really needed it to do that before, and always had in the back of my mind that you couldn't - little things like that are always handy though.
