Tax Rule Problem

I have a website I developed for a customer using Power Store. They are out of NY and have 1 tax rule set for the NY rate. They just had a customer from Georgia make a purchase and it charged them the NYS tax and now my customer needs to credit their client.... How do I set the tax rule to only apply to NYS residents?

It looks like the tax rule is set up correctly. What is the order ID that has tax improperly charged? I'll try to debug it that way.

Tax Problem

The recent orders in the dashboard don't ever seem to update. They still show 2012 as the most recent orders. I can't locate this particular order (I was told it was the last order) SEE PM

It looks like the issue with this account is that the Country is set wrong. The state is set as NY, so it should have been charged tax.

I'm also confused about where the orders are.

Why does he think he has to refund the tax charge? This is a NY order.

This client is from Georgia... He shouldn't have to pay NYS tax... Also the site isn't recording the most recent transactions. Don't know why.

In the hidden region you posted the client information in, it says:

State/ Province/ Region: NY

OK I see. Excellent. Thanks.... Any idea why it's not showing the most recent sales in the dashboard?

No. Has the user deleted them? Are they in the database?
