Unable to Login or Authenticate Users in Dreamweaver

I have creteated the Security Assist Pages and have managed to register two accounts.

Using Navicat I have seen that the data has been added to the tables! :)

When I try to login, I get told that the username or password is incorrect, which it is not.

I have saved the passwords as MD5, do I need to alter something on the login page to recognise this?

I have tried opening the Authenticate Server Behaviours in Dreamweaver, however the wizard can not detect the tables..

I have both the Testing and Remote servers set up.

I am on a Mac and am using the latest versions of OS, Dreamweaver, and your extensions.

You would have to MD5 encrypt the passwords when comparing them to the database fields in order to compare apples to apples.

Are you able to access tables from other interfaces? The database panel or Recordset definitions?

If the wizard can't recognize the tables, that is usually an issue with the site definition root url or with the database connection file. You can debug that by opening the database connection and testing it to see if it generates an error.

If you attach a copy of the login page I might be able to suggest where to update the md5 encryption manually.

Hi Ray

I have found some code on the login page that already relates to MD5 firstly in an include file:
<?php require_once("../webassist/security_assist/wa_md5encryption.php"); ?>

and then again a bit further down:
"columnValues" => explode($WA_Auth_Separator,"".((isset($_POST["Log_In_group_email"]))?$_POST["Log_In_group_email"]:"") ."".$WA_Auth_Separator."".(WA_MD5Encryption((isset($_POST["Log_In_group_2_Password"]))?$_POST["Log_In_group_2_Password"]:"")) .""),

I can access the database through the Database Panel on the page with no issues.

I have attached a copy of the page as suggested.

Thanks for your time

The code looks like it would work to me. If you give me FTP access I can debug it and figure out what is going on.

Hi Ray

I have created you an FTP account as requested.

Any idea about the database connection issue? I can access the database through the Database panel, but not through Security Assist, Authenticate User Behaviour.

I'd need the ftp server name or IP address and site URL as well to do any testing.

Sorry Ray, My bad!

It looks like your password field in the database is defined as a binary(16)... change it to a varchar(50). My bet is that it isn't long enough for the encrypted string.

That did it!

Thanks Ray!
