The requirements for MySQLi "..is a web server that runs PHP 5.2 and MySQL 4 or MySQL 5". What if my hosting server uses later versions of PHP & MySQL, what then?

The requirements for MySQLi "..is a web server that runs PHP 5.2 and MySQL 4 or MySQL 5". What if my hosting server uses later versions of PHP & MySQL, what then?

Also will your code not have features which are deprecated in later versions of PHP & MySQLi? Is your software updated to the latest version of PHP & MySQLi as hosting companies are likely to update as soon as updates are rolled-out?

If that is the case how come webassist is specifying already out of date server versions as a requirement to install?

I can't justify this cost if your software doesn't keep pace with these updates.

The requirements should say "or newer"... those are the minimum versions.

Sorry but could you put my mind at rest - how does Webassist maintain this product and keep it up to date? Is it an issue if the product lags behind PHP & MySQLi updates? Do you charge for updates (one hopes not)?

Please provide as much detail as you can.

Many Thanks in Advance.

When php is updated it is almost always backwards compatible, so we don't have to do anything.

In the rare case that it isn't, we make whatever adjustments are necessary.
