Linking Dream Host

When activating my CafeCommerce account it does not give me the option to use my pre-existing dreamhost domain. How do I do this?

Thanks

It should... is the domain registered in the same Dreamhost account as your CafeCommerce site? If you tell me your cafecommerce domain and the existing domain you want to use I can look into this for you.

Yes it is the same. I sent it privately.

I've posted an inquiry to our contacts at Dreamhost to have them look into why it isn't showing up. I'll try to get it resolved.

Please post back with a phone number where I can reach you if they have any questions.

Help!

Ray,

I have yet to receive a response in regards to this issue. I would like to use cafe commerce for my companies store front but without the ability to link the store to my dreamhost domain ASAP I am going to have to go another route. Please advise. I need to get this resolved ASAP.

Thanks

I have emailed my contacts at dreamhost and asked them to look into this more urgently.

Can you post your Dreamhost control panel login information into a private area of this thread? I'll use that to log in and see if I can spot the problem myself in the mean time.

I got this reply from the Dreamhost support team today:

This domain already has hosting, and they're trying to add another (different) type of hosting to it. A domain can only have one type of hosting at a time. If the customer wants to use this domain with cafecommerce, they need to first set it to DNS Only in the panel, which will allow them to add HTTP hosting from CafeCommerce's side.

Dreamhost informed me today that they are no longer affiliated with cafe commerce. Is this correct? The only reason I went with dream hosting was because of the affiliation with cafe commerce. Guess it's back to the drawing board

They are still the hosting company for us, but we are in the process of transitioning to our own servers to allow us to solve problems like yours more efficiently. The cafecommerce service will continue to run, but soon the hosting through Dreamhost won't be a requirement. We are taking control of the servers and support in order to better serve our customers and make sure unnecessary delays like this don't continue to occur.
