showing / hiding content

Hey Ray

I am using a bit of JS to show/hide form elements based on a select list and just struggling with a couple of issues if you wouldnt mind taking a look please?

The first one is the 'download_update.php' page attached. On this one, I am trying to figure out how to show/hide the elements automatically based on what the 'FileType' select list is showing (which is based on the database). For some reason, if for example the sleect is preset to 'External' then the 'ExternalLink' element should be showing. It only shows if you use the select list to choose something else and then go back to the 'External' option. The same is happening for the other options whdere the 'DownloadFile' element should show automatically but isnt.

The second issue is on the 'download_insert.php' page attached. On this one, how do I go about making the select list require that something (other than 'Select Type' is selected?

Many thanks

Jamie

I don't see why the update page wouldn't work. You are calling the function at the bottom of the page, so it should run when the page loads. I'd have to debug the live page to figure it out.

The validation on the select list should work without problems on the insert page. Just add Required validation to the select list like you would any other field. Since the select one option has value="" it won't pass validation and any other selection would.

Move the code from lines 342-344 into the editable region after line 338.

It is never actually being added to the page since it isn't in an editable region.
