Html site settings and Dataassist page creation (file upload settings under Server settings tab)

I'm soooo confused. Searched but could not find answer.
Everything works ok until I try to define a field as type (File Manager). When I go to the server settings, I select the sibling folder to save my uploaded files. I have tried just about everything and it direct me to a subfolder of my executable php files.

I have a folder where all my executable files reside in "main/workfiles", I want to upload my files to "main/uploads". When I execute upload, it attempts to save files to "main/workfiles/uploads".

I'm assuming I have to define in my "file upload settings". I have tried "../uploads", "/../uploads/", etc but it doesn't work.
I have tried doing the same using webassist> forms> html editor > site settings to no avail.

What am I doing wrong? Where exactly do I define my directory and is there a conflict between site settings and file upload settings?

It seems like ../uploads would work. If you give me FTP access to the server and a url for me to test with I can investigate it and let you know how to fix it.

Universal Email

I have been looking but cannot find a tutorial or post (not saying there isn't one, I just couldn't find it) regarding the ability to include variables from another table when creating emails.
I want to send a comment to a customer regarding a job. I have created a view table that ties all my fields. purchase order, customer, job, etc. I use dataassist to create my pages. Afterwards, I use the create message option but I cannot see where all my fields are binded to include in email, only the ones being updated. Any suggestions? Joe

This paragraph was added a few minutes after my original post. My problem is the fact I'm using of the fields as search criteria for my view table. I guess my question is, can I execute a select statement on a query after the insert button is pressed so I can identify additional fields. I'm sure I can figure out how to do that. But, I want to utilize webassist aids as much as possible. Suggestions? Joe

It should all be possible. If you are managing your email body from a separate page with Universal Email, you would just have to reference the recordsets on the top of the body tag you want to use by declaring them as global like:

<?php
global $row_Recordset1;
?>

once you do that then you could refer to the row of that recordset in the email body just like you would on the page.

I need to execute the query to select the specific record (based on the end user's variable) after the insert button is pressed. Do I execute the select on the entire table and parse through the entire table manually? Or, is there a way to execute the select with the variable as an argument in the "WHERE job = variable" clause? If so, where do I insert this part? If you feel we need to setup a session, any time tomorrow would be good for me. Joe

I think a premier session is probably appropriate since I'm not sure exactly what you are doing and it will likely take many back and forth messages here for something we can do quickly in a session.

Please fill out the premier request form, or post back here with contact information in the private area and I will call you to set up a time.
