homepage (or any product page) asking for my email address

homepage (or any product page) asking for my email address

Looking for info on your homepage, the page is asking for me to sign in and says it's a restricted page (in Chrome). If I go to Internet Explorer, it doesn't ask on the same page, so I'm assuming it's a cookie thing. Why is it doing this when I'm just looking for data that any other web surfer can access without a password? This has happened to me in several physical locations. I can restore proper operations by using another browser or clearing previous settings, etc.

Also, I see various offers mentioning discounts, but I don't see a discounted price reflected when I hit "BUY" or "BUY WITH DISCOUNT" (I saw one for $!00 bucks for either ecart or mysqli extension). Are the prices listed the discounted prices already?

I had a problem with the password on the home page, but didn't have it when I signed in through this 'help' link. When I hit the 'forgot password' url, it took me back to the same page with 'forgot password' on it (the login screen). What's up with that?

Thanks
fritz

You probably have the "automatic login" option selected but somehow have the wrong login information saved in your cookie. You can probably fix that by clearing cookies for this site, or by logging in properly and then going to your profile and turning off auto-login.

Discounts should show on the product page when viewing them... the full price will show above and the discounted below.

I'll try clicking on the forgot password link and see if it works for me. I'm not sure what would cause that. Possibly that is related to the same auto-login with bad login details issue. I'll try reproducing it and see if I can reproduce that way.

Mr Bourduin

You are probably right about that auto-login. I don't remember selecting that, but I've done stupid stuff unintentionally before.

In the meantime, I bit the bullet and bought SuperSuite. It's a handful to absorb all at once, but since I knew I needed DataBridge and ECart, it just made financial sense to glom the whole package. I am going through all the tutorials and YouTube videos, and was doing so weeks before the purchase, and I'm still behind the 8-ball. The DataBridge is straightforward enough. The Ecart's been tough going but I'm going through the ecommerce tutorial. The more tuts there are, and the longer and more detailed, the better as far as I'm concerned.

I did not see any difference between the regular price and the discount price (I saw no listing for a discount price). If you hear that they're still offering one, I'd surely be interested.

Thanks for all your help

There is no current discount on super suite. However it does come with a free hour of premium phone support. So feel free to fill out a request if you get stuck and need some help.

Also make sure to watch the eCart webinar linked from your eCart downloads page. It will be a very detailed example of setting up a store with eCart.
