Cannot get Paypal Account Optional

Cannot get Paypal Account Optional

HI, I have used earlier versions of eCart successfully.

Currently I am using eCart 6 with Dreamweaver CC in Yosemite

During testing I cannot find a way to get Paypal to display paypal account optional.
I have done all of the cache clearing cookie clearing steps to no avail.

Paypal account optional is definitely set in the Paypal profile

I set up the checkout pages using eCart checkout wizard and chose the Express checkout option (image attached), as there appears to be no Papal Payments Standard anymore.

Is there a trigger in the code somewhere?

Hi Jason, thanks for your help.

I add a product to the cart, checkout and when I get to Paypal for payment, I always have to sign in, even though Paypal Account Optional is selected in the Paypal setup. The option to Pay by Credit Card without signing in is just not available.

I have cleared the cache and tried again three times without success, so I am wondering if there is something in the code that is being sent to Paypal by eCart.

I just read that express checkout requires a Paypal account. If this is the case then express checkout is of no use to me, I need something like Paypal Payments Standard. I did not see this as an option on setup.

OK, the client will probably accept Paypal Express as the new payment method, but its a shame that Paypal does not indicate clearly that clicking on "Create and Account" in the Paypal login screen takes you to a Credit Card Payment screen and simpler account creation.

Yes, I agree this can be confusing. You should contact paypal support to ask if there is a way of changing that, I'm not sure if there is or not, but it couldn't hurt to ask them.
