Using ecart6 with a database

In ecart 6.1 I have created an ecart object
The next stage I open ecart Add to cart button and wish to select look up items from recordset.
However the button is greyed out.

I have created a database (4 tables from ecommerce.sql) in phpmyadmin which is working OK and can see the table contents.

Can you please advise how I can select the database in ecart?

Many thanks

John
