not picking up database connection (new DA download)

Hi I've just downloaded the updated CC extensions.

I'm trying to place and add to cart button on my details page but need to edit the WADAProducts recordset. When I double click to update it doesn't pick up the database connection.If I click define I can see the connection but even when I press select it doesn't pick it up so can't see my tables.

Can you help?

Make sure you are using a standard MySQL connection.

It sounds like the connection may be a MYSQLi connection, Data Bridge and the standard DW Recordset dialog box will not work with a MySQLi conenction

I am somewhat confused here; I thought you wanted us all coding using MySQLi so it stands to reason that Data Bridge should work with a MySQLi connection. Am I missing something here.

We Are working on upgrading Data Bridge to be compatible with MySQLi right now, we hope to have that upgrade available this quarter. at this time, though, Data Bridge will not work with MySQLi.

Can you summarize what and where the mySQLi application is used for? Is this only used for the creation of record sets? Will it cause any future headaches if a connection of each type is established and connecting to the same databases? New to this one, do not want to cause future headaches.

The MySQLi extension is a recreation of the Native Dreamweaver Server behaviors that uses the MySQLi library instead of the MySQL library.

it would be used anywhere you would want to use the native DW server behaviors instead of using Data Bridge.

There is not a problem with using both types of connections in your site.

We are working on an upgrade to Data Bridge to use MySQLi, and hope to have that available by the end of the quarter.
