Adding events - how to add recurrences?

I have an events table and my client would like to add an event recurs on a weekly basis.
How is this best achieved?

Really depends on the nature of the recurrences that may be available.

if it is always ever going to be recurring once a week, you just need a column to use 1 or 0 to mark recurrence.

if it is going to get more complicated than that: different recurring periods (week, month, year), or a time for when the recurrence ends, you will need additional column to account for those scenarios too.

So if I add a column for weeklyrecurrence to the database table, with a 1 or 0 value when it is submitted via the INSERT form, what happens then?
How do I then get that event to display every week on the website?

Thank you

a recordset that filters the weeklyrecurrence = 1

But the event date will be displayed as the original date entered when adding the event.

Our client would like to enter an event that occurs on, let's say, Saturday 8th November. They enter...
Title
Date
Time
Details

This event occurs weekly but rather than have to re-enter the details every week, they'd like to be able to select this event as a recurrence and have it show up on the website, with the correct date for each week.

Thank you.

A little more information please, how are you setting up to show each week?

Each week? These are single events. They occur on a certain date and at a certain time and are presented on the website in order of event date ascending. It's basically a what's on guide.

Thank you.

PS. Would it be possible to get back to me also on this issue:

Datepicker isn't working correctly and hasn't done for a number of days now and my client is asking why. Thank you.

In this case, theres not a way to show the event multiple times in the list on each day it recurs.

you could use the weeklyrecurrence column as a trigger to show a message that it starts on this date and recurs each week.

for a simple list like the one you are talking about to show the event each week, you need to enter it for each week.
