Selecting two records to view details of each together

Selecting two records to view details of each together

I have been asked to look into the possibility of adding some functionality that would allow people to select two records, in order to see the details of each to compare them side by side.

As a rough idea, I think the idea would be to have a simple list of records, with checkboxes to select the two you wanted, and a submit button that would take you to a page displaying the details of each.

I'm just trying to get an idea of a. whether or not its possible, and b. how complex it might be.

I realise its probably not out of the box functionality, so would likely be one for a premium support ticket.

Any pointers welcome though. Thanks.

Yes, using the checkboxes would be how you do this.

the checkboxes would pass the selected ID's as an array, you would then need to impose the array to a comma separated list, and use that in a recordset on the details page in an IN statement.

this could be done in a premiere support incident.

Thanks Jason - I need to find out a bit more about what exactly is required and hopefully come back to this towards th end of next week.
