Tutorial Request

As well as the existing product feature request, would it be possible to have a tutorial request option ?

1. Giving - I may have completed some development work, which I think is cool, and would consider sharing, but only want to invest some time in it if there is a demand for it in the forums.
eg I have recently added database driven coupon management which works with ecart, allowing the user to easily create, edit and delete coupons via an admin interface

2. Receiving - I use webassist tools, such as dataassist, which I would like use to take my work to the next level.

For example, I have a contact form which has both client and server side validation. I would like to develop this so that it appears in a modal window, and retain the server side validation via ajax. I have been reading up on jquery and ajax, and understand the principles, but sometimes struggle to 'join the dots'.
There are a few examples out there, but it would be nice to have a solution which builds on a classic webassist solution, and takes it further

Hey Craig

Really good idea IMO

Funnily enough I had a meeting yesterday and you rpoint 1 with regards to the coupon system was something that they would really need so I would definitley be up for that one.

Cheers

I agree that this is a good idea. I do know that the WA powers have a long list of things they would like tutorials on and have on occasion asked for these to be created by the community as well as internally. The set of tutorials we have now is a good start but I think if we had a public wishlist in the forums we/they could better gauge interest and they would be less likely to fall through the cracks.

We could then in our spare time 'give' as Craig puts it.

I do quite a lot of customizing of the admin areas of Powerstore and CMS. I spend countless hours working to solve issues and find what parts of which file needs editing etc. I'd like to be able to hand that info off to others that may benefit from it but it would also be nice to know if that would even be useful and time well spent as a tutorial. We could use this space to gauge interest in that regard as well.

I Forwarded your suggestion to ray, he likes the idea and is thinking of converting the product suggestion page to general suggestion page and added tutorial as a suggestion topic.

Cool.

And thanks for the feedback.

Jamie, I will look into creating a tutorial on the coupon management I referred to, when I get time

Jamie, it's not a tutorial, but in this post:
http://www.webassist.com/forums/post/23007/

I give the basic concepts of converting the Coupon code tutorial to be database driven.

I'm sure a tutorial by CraigR would flesh that out a lot more though.

Sorry Jason. Didn't see this reply from you - wasn't being rude!

Will have a look and try it out!
