in the /webassist/jq_validation/Default.css add:
z-index: 999;

to the .Default-wrapper selector

gotcha thanks. thats got the validation showing.. where would I add the z-index to show the progress bar?

The code for the progress bar has been removed from this page, there is no code for the progress bar divs or the line to initialize the progress bar. your page does not have the progress bar applied to it.

Isn't that what's happening at line 294 though?

ooops, your right, didnt see that on viewing the browser source sorry.

the progress bar is using the cabo sunset theme, so try editing this code in the webassist/progress_bar/jquery-blockui-formprocessing.js

WADFP_Theme_BaseOptions['CaboSunset'] = {
overlayCSS: { backgroundColor: '#656586' },
css: {
'-webkit-border-radius': '10px',
'-moz-border-radius': '10px',
width:'',
left:'',
border: '5px solid #fff',
backgroundColor : '#392F69',
color: '#D85F0E'
}
}

and add position and z-index to the overlayCSS:
overlayCSS: { backgroundColor: '#656586', position: 'absolute', z-index: '99999' },
