MySql to MySqli

Over the years I have developed about 10 sites on a dedicated server now running PHP 5 and MySQL 5.1.7 using Webassist Databridge and Design extender.

What is the recommended migration path for these sites and server and a very rough timetable? Can I update to MySQL 5.5 and Php 5.3 without breaking the extensions? If not what is the most up-to-date versions can I use?

yes, the MySQL extensions are still supported in the php 5.3.

We are working on updating our extensions to be compatible with MySQLi, currently eCart 6.0.8 is mysqli compliant and the rest we are working on. I Don't have a time frame for when they will be upgraded except to say we are working on it.

Thank you for the quick response!

Which version of MySQL can I run on the server? Version 5.5?
