database connection - error 1045

I have everything filled in properly for my connection but I continue to get the same error. I know I've struggled with this in the past and there is probably some easy fix but I can't find it. I've searched here. I've searched Google. I did tutorials. Nothing has given me the answer. I'm hosting with BlueHost. I'm using localhost for the MySQL server name. I have all permissions set for the new user I created in PHP MyAdmin. Just can't figure out what silly thing I'm doing wrong.

Thank you.

Error 1045 means that the MySQL server is rejecting the Username and Password you have entered in the connection.

Double check the username and password you are entering.

They should be correct unless I'm missing some little thing about the way I should enter them. I have no clue what that might be.

Is there anything else that it could be like I need to tell the server something or set it up differently? In other words, can I get the error that looks like it's username or password but it's really something else?

no, the 1045 error is strait forward.

Authentication failure, permission denied.

I'm trying to do this all on the live server. Is that ok? I don't need to be using a local testing server? I've always used the same server as my live site in the past but I was reading some comments that made me wonder if that's still ok. Maybe I need to call BlueHost. I was assuming it would be the same as HostGator or GoDaddy but perhaps not?

do you get the error in DW? or when running the page on the live site.

if you are trying to create the connection in DW to the remote DB Server, the testing server settings need to be set to connect to the remote FTP server

In DW.
I've attached a bunch of screenshots. It's probably right in front of my nose but I can't see what's wrong.
I even just added another new user.

the 1045 error message, like i said, is authentication failed for the user you are using to connect to the database.

you will need to work with your host on this.
