trying reinstall CSSSculptor 3 2 get error message 'internal error (please contact tech support) application not installed

Have been using this application for a while and today i got the request for the serial number validation. I went to my downloads and copied serial number but it wouldn't take it.
I downloaded the mxp file again and tried to install but now get the internal error message?

recreate the users configuration folder as outlined in step 12 of the Adobe troubleshooting guide:

the in the extension manager, uninstall the extensions and reinstall them.

I recreated the users configuration folder but didn't mess with the windows registry.
I was able to install the CSSsculptor and it works properly as before.
I saw a few things changed, for instance, i had to copy mysnippets folder to the new configuration.
Everything else seems to be working ok.

I cant say what caused the problem, but glad to hear recreating the configuration folder worked.
