Password Encryption / Session Variable - User...

Hi

So does this Security Assist encrypt the password when sending / checking against a Mysql database when a user logs in?

Also is it possible to still get the session variable value i.e. the user who is logged in shown on the screen (I implemented this using Dreaweavers inbuilt login function), based on the session variable a query dsiplays the user who is logged in. I still need to be able to do this with the Security Assistant extension as well as provide some level of password protection / encryption.
