Dynamic connections - quo vadis?

I have installed DB 1.2.0 in my CC2014 EM, and cannot find the ability to create a dynamic connection file. Where is that, please?

make sure that the Adobe Server Behaviors extension is installed:

then in the database panel, click the plus button and select Dynamic MySQL Connection.

Dang - thanks, Jason! Can I manually modify a MySQLi connection file in a way similar to the method shown in the MySQL file?

yes, you can edit the code in the MySQLi connection file to change the Database, host, username, or password.

What I meant was - can I take a straight MySQLi connection file and modify it manually so that it becomes a dynamic one, i.e., when I am connecting locally use the server's IP address, but when I am connecting from the domain, use "localhost"? I should think so but wanted to be sure.

All MySQLi connections are Dynamic Connections.

I still think we are missing each other. When I'm building a site, I want my connection string to point to the remote server by IP address with the login credentials (I do a foreign connection to the database). When I upload the files to take them live, I want the connection to point to the server with 'localhost', not the IP address. It's convenient to have this logic built in to the connection file. So, in the DataBridge dynamic connection definition you could specify both connections and it would toggle between the local and the remote based on whether $foundConnection was true or false.

That's the logic I want to add to the MySQLi connection file.

You can do the same in the MySQLi connections.

to create a conection, open the Database tab, click the plus button and select Dynamic MySQLi Connection.

There is a primary connection tab to define the Local Connection, and the Additional connection tab to define the remote connection details.

I see - sorry for the lengthy process but the penny finally dropped! :)

Thanks, as always, Jason.
