hovering and drop downs on tablets and mobile devices - can't hover without clicking?

hovering and drop downs on tablets and mobile devices - can't hover without clicking?

Client has noticed, on mobile and tablet devices, that there isn't an option to "hover" as you would with a mouse pointer.
You HAVE to touch the device and, therefore, you are clicking a button.
Any way around this?

Thank you

No, there is not a way around this, mobile browsers do not implement the hover concept.

What would you recommend as a solution to this?

to touch instead of hover

How do we edit CSSMW to use touch instead of hover, and if we can't then what would you recommend as a solution?
Is this not a touch issue then, as opposed to a mobile browser issue?

Thank you

It wasn't clear initially that you where asking about CSS Menu writer, guess I should have looked the forum Section you where posting to.

Most mobile browsers convert double tap to hover, so you could double tap the menu to trigger the hover event.

In reality, CSS menu writer is not mobile compatible.

See this page for some details about pure CSS menus and mobile compatibility:

do you have a responsive mobile compatible menu system?

CSS Menu shows the ability to be connected to a database...
Do you have a menu system that is truly responsive system?

No, CSS Menu writer does not have support for mobile devices or responsive designs.
